ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø student Stevie Carnell has earned the national Phi Kappa Phi fraternity’s Hohenstein Fellowship as the top nominee in the Southeast. The honor includes an award of $5,000. 

The fifth-year senior physics major has a distinguished career at Samford. She is both a University Fellows honors student and a Howard College of Arts and Sciences Ambassador. In fall, 2013, she was one of only 40 students in the U.S. honored with the American Physical Society’s Scholarship for Minority Undergraduate Physics Majors.

"Stevie Carnell had a great academic experience at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøand winning this prestigious and competitive fellowship from the national office of Phi Kappa Phi validates her accomplishments,” said ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøPhilosophy Department chair and campus Pi Kappa Phi president Dennis Sansom.
